Tall and tan and young and lovely...

the girl from Ipanema goes walking,
and when she passes,
each one she passes goes, ahh.

Did you know that there really was a girl from Ipanema? Heloísa Eneida Menezes Paes Pinto (quite a mouthful, isn't it?), a 5'8" tall brunette, was the subject of this award-winning song. Though myth goes that she was the original inspiration for the lyrics, in actuality, they were only attributed to her to after the song was written. Still, the idea of composers Antonio Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes being completely blown away by her poise and beauty as she walked by on her way to the beach is enchanting, isn't it?

For more info, there's a Wiki article.

All this talk of beaches and Brazilian babes can be attributed to the particularly warm weather we've been experiencing recently. I think it's time to break out the dresses and shorts, don't you?
