Get Busy Child

We all just couldn't walk out the house with solid-colored, symmetrically designed, ordinary shirts. Thanks to Bill Cosby, Roseanne (Barr) and Jackie, they stepped outside the box and flaunted busy printed sweaters, which dubbed the (ugly) Christmas sweater tradition. These sweaters are not just for the holidays anymore, oh no! They're carrying over throughout the year and hitting runways at shows like Ann-Sofie Back and Peter Jensen. We actually have a soft-spot for these festive knits--perfect for jazzing up a basic pair of jeans or leggings on the weekend.

Raining Cats and Dogs

A cat weather lore:
A sneezing cat means rain is on the way, and three sneezes in a row portends a cold for the cat's owner! A cat running wildly about, darting here and there and clawing everything in sight means wind or a storm is on the way; when the cat quietens down, the storm will soon blow itself out. Cats washing over their ears have long been held to foretell rain; the old rhyme goes 'When Kitty washes behind her ears, we'll soon be tasting heaven's tears.'

As the lore and photo suggests, the storm shall soon blow over. Rain rain go away, come again another day.

Tickle Me Pink

Who would've thought? 80s fashion is making a come-back with the Joan Collins shoulder pad look! You may want to re-think snipping off the extra padding when you bring something home from the vintage shop!

Navy (Leather) is the New Black

A forecast into Pre-Fall 2009--expect to see more and more navy leather, a lighter shade of black. A consultation with the Magic Eight Ball says, As I See It, Yes.

Intricate and distinct prints, draped t-shirt dresses and low maintenance sexiness. It's Neurotica, not to be mistaken by Nautica. The collection by UK designer, Victoria McGrane, are feminine yet strong that's highly wearable with its subtle shapes and soft tailoring. It's designed with the kind of girl in mind who is a bit dark and weird but unashamedly cute.

All Band, No Dial

One of the highlights of the Tokyo Design Week was this faceless LED watch by Hiranao Tsuboi. A minimalist wristwatch with LED digits built into the sleek metal wristband which displays the time when lit up. The release date of this watch has not yet been confirmed, only time will tell!

Did Someone Say Wood (Wood)?

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Wood Wood embodies that laid back blend of underground and high-end way of thinking, hoping to surprise across the board with a distinct selection of styles. For menswear classic and casual streetwear, basic T-shirts, sweatshirts, classic shirts, chinos, jackets and knitwear, are twisted into interesting silhouettes.

Swede Swagger

Sweden is known for their beautiful people, clogs, gummy candy and amazing style. Stockholm Fashion Week kicked off with a line-up mostly of local talent, including one of our faves, MiniMarket. Velvet cigarette pants, little caped tartan jackets, lean buttoned-up mini-skirts, and some bowler hats-YOW!

MiniMarket is paving their way in the new year with their diffusion line Mini for Many and has also developed their accessory line consisting of bags, shoes, scarves, hats, belts, scarves, and bowties! They love making their woman even more elegant, sophisticated and self confident and that's why we love them!
