MAKR Your Calendars for Acrimony's First Pop-Up Shop

Acrimony hosting a pop-up shop? Well yes!
MAKR will be showcasing a collection of new and previously unreleased items at Acrimony’s 8x8 designer exclusive pop-up shop. A preferred selection of carry goods including totes & duffel bags and wallets & cardholders will be available at Acrimony from November 28th through the 2008 holiday season.
Makr is a small carry goods company founded and run by designer Jason Gregory. The brand’s focus is on simple, elegant items to carry your life in. All Makr products blend the tradition of handcrafted goods with the contemporary elements of city life. Leather is laser etched, yet hand sewn. Soft deerskin is paired with industrial wovens. Materials are carefully selected and every item is designed, patterned and cut in house. Pieces are produced in small quantities by an even smaller group of people, and all assembly is done by family-owned companies within the U.S.
Makr is an appreciation of the simple, the durable and the timelessness of thoughtful design; a vision of the useful as artful, and the opportunity to apply that principle to the everyday. The idea is to continue rethinking and creating practical objects that provide relief from the typical and disposable.
Wallets and card holders starting at $74. Get yours now!

Made by Eugene
Even wild horses need friends. Eugene Tsai, bred in Brazil, groomed in New York, works in art, design and fashion. Combining hand crafted strap leather and solid brass hardware, Eugene has created a sexy, equine alternative to the common key ring. Small keychains with a thin strap tie, large key rings with a thick strap tie, embellish with a solid brass crab claw charm or a brass whistle-what is it? Is it a handle? Is it a necklace? Is it a statement? Either way, it's ready to wear and flaunt with your wardrobe! Gallop into Acrimony and get yours!

Comme des Garcons for the masses

While almost every high-street, designer collaboration of late has been quite the disappointment, we are finally excited to see the launch of one of the most unexpected ones yet. Rei Kawakubo, best know for her directional and very aggressive collections, is a design genius. Whether or not the range will be uncompromised by the diffusion prices, and the overly commercial audience, is yet to be seen. We can't imagine the average H&M shopper fully appreciating Kawakubo's 40 years of experience. However, it's a push in the right direction. The level of sophistication in design is unparalleled, and any exposure to those that haven't had the pleasure of enjoying it will finally have the chance. It's already available in Tokyo, but tomorrow, it's for us in the states to judge.

SUPER sunglasses
SUPER sunglasses are our new favorite accessory of the moment. After seeing them at Capsule in NY, and then again at Project in Vegas, we are committed to wearing sunglasses all year long.
Designed in similarity to the classic Wayfarer, SUPER steps it up with a slightly different frame and a high quality lens. Italian made with Carl Zeiss lenses, these sunglasses are the newest update to the old time classic. And by the way, aren't you ready for a new pair?
Fall styles come in next week. Purple frames with dark lenses, black frames with clear lenses, black flat style frames with gold mirrored lenses. You can even pop out the clear lenses to put in some prescription lenses if you want.
Sneak peek at a few new ones for Spring 09...

Sretsis Fall 08

Sretsis for Fall is in!
The "Parallel Universe" collection evokes a dreamlike landscape with wild animals, expansive skies and mythical beings. Animals figure prominently into the prints, textiles and accessories of the collection. From fur trim to digital printing of Alaskan deer, owls, panthers and unicorns on silk chiffon and satin, animals-real and imagined-romp through the collection.
Prints of surreal landscapes from the North Pole to Loch Ness to the Moon also grace dresses and tops, conveying a colorful sense of mysticism.
The Sretsis sisters envision "Parallel Universe" as a series of interlocking pieces meant to reveal a hopeful, harmonious universe.
We at Acrimony think that's a bit cooky, and we recommend staying off the opium pipe. But the fashion looks awesome, come peep for yourself.

Newcomers S2VS out of NYC bring a fresh look to menswear. Keeping with basic contemporary styling, but adding young, invigorating twists, S2VS is definitely one to look out for. Watch for metallics, tweeds, tailored fits, and best of all, great prices. What better way to update your look? 'Cause you need it.

Sophomore NYC
Get rid of that American Apparel grey v-neck!! We know you love it, it fits great, and it's so easy. But the day your boss used the same tee to make team building 08 tees, you should've known to burn it! Enter...Sophomore NYC. A refreshing alternative to your AA basics. Innovative styling, comfy fabrics, real sensibility. Try a cross button dress in orange, or a front zip skirt in navy. Or perhaps just a plain ol' tee.
